I just purchased a Sager NP9150. I have my standard drive as a SSD but I have the below configuration - straight from xpotic
- Optical Drive Bay: Remove DVDRW Drive and Install Optical Bay Hard Drive Caddy Only (SKU - S7R951)
- Optical Drive Bay Hard Drive Caddy: No Extra Optical Bay Hard Drive Caddy
I am having trouble installing the secondary SSD. I bought a Intel 520 SSD. It mounts to a small caddy and I have screwed it inside it.
The SSD has come with cables so I can see it needs to hookup inside. I opened up the bottom of the computer but could not get it off all of the way, must have been a few other screws to take out but was not sure which ones to take off. A Bit apprehensive as to take it apart just to install it.
Sorry no picks, I am sure most of you guys have had some experience doing this.
Are my only options to take the whole bottom off as guiding the cables through the drive does not seem to be an option either.
Thanks

So you want to install the SSD in the optical bay caddy, right?
You don't need the extra cable because the SSD should fit in the caddy and connected to the SATA port directly. IIRC, you have to remove the main HDD cover, then on the left side you should see a single screw holding the optical drive caddy. Remove it and you should be able to push the caddy out.
Please remember to take the battery out first -
Yes I do want to install another SSD in the optical bay. When I ordered the computer I told them to leave the drive open so they did, big hole on the side of my computer now. When I look inside the drive space I see the connectors and where the ssd should align to. The only thing is that, the two connectors on the ssd do not match the internal connectors in the computer drive so therefore needing to use the cable which makes me think there is a difference in ssd for desktop and hdd. Probably just talking out of my right now since I dont know just giving it a guess. Thanks for the help so far
