    Sager NP9150 Problem connecting to external monitor

    like my title say i cannot connect to external monitor. I bought a hdmi to dvi cable which i hook the hdmi side to my laptop and dvi side to the monitor put nothing appear on the monitor. the wire is not faulty since I plug it into my desktop and it work fine. any help would be appreciated.

    have you tried the display Fn + F7 shortcut keys

    yes i have. My computer when connected hdmi to hdmi to my tv, it display fine, i just can't get it to display in m lg flatron wide monitor

    i have a 670m graphic card

    while its connected try a reboot. if that doesnt work then i have no idea.

    It might not like it due to the monitor not being HDCP.

    is there any way to get around this?

    i use a vga cord from my old laptop and hook to the screen and it work fine. i just don't know why the dvi cable not working with my sager computer

    Getting round HDCP might be against the forum rules here but feel free to look it up outside.

    "Getting around it" may be, but you can read up a little on it here. Also, you're not using a passive adapter, right?

    well i try a different lg monitor and use the same cable and it detected fine. i try the same cable on my desktop and work fine when i use it on the monitor i trying to use on my laptop.

    Ah, then it very well could be the monitor in question, and possibly the DHCP as Meaker mentioned. What monitor is it?

    Are you trying to hook up the external monitor while still having your TV hooked up to another port? It will only support one at a time.

    A good point, though you can switch off the internal display to run two externals.
