    Sager NP9150 w/ 7970 Power Issues?

    I was just thinking, the new 7970 is a 100W card, and the lower end processor is 45W. With the power adapter being 180W (leaving 35W for everything else), are there going to be power draw issues?

    The current cards are already 100w models, so this new one will be nothing new. You have to remember that TDP rating is Thermal Design Power, not constant wattage draw (it's a factor of cooling, not power).

    Power is not an issue, 100w cards have worked fine in these laptops for a while :) (now, if you wanted to overclock- that's where you'd start hitting power problems)

    the p170em comes with a 220w PSU, you've got some extra power for overclocking
