ive always owned gloss screens as they are more vibrant and chrisper colours UNTIL NOW
im running the stock matte screen on my P502 and it is absolutely brilliant. its one of the best matte screens ive ever seen and im totally blown away by it.
and there was me almost deciding to upgrade to 95% gamut screen. im glad i didnt.

I had a glossy screen once, and I can tell you that glossy looks better, hands down.

The problem, though, is the high reflections. You really have a hard time seeing something when the sun is shining around you or a light is directly behind you and...yeah, it's probably not worth it.

So the matte's better? I have a glossy screen now on this old laptop, probably ordering a sager today. I do get reflections on my glossy screen.. a little annoying sometimes. But i hear matte will wash out the colors or blur the image?

All the new matte screens I've read about seem to receive fantastic reviews on their vibrancy and color, so it seems that the glossy is pointless.

Going to hijack the thread a bit, any chance of Sager sending me a matte in exchange for the glossy? They also sent the glossy with a bunch of scratches on it. I have 25 days left in North America, so not going to risk sending them the whole thing just to not get it back until Christmas. I guess I can live with it, but should have gone with matte.

My old laptop has a 17.3" glossy, at that time I didn't think reflection is that annoying until I started using the matte display on P150EM, I can tell you now when I look at the 17.3" glossy on my old laptop I just can't stand the reflection anymore because I got used to the matte's non-reflection view.

It may be better to contact your reseller to see if they can assist you with it. They might be able to work something out.

The scratches on the display are unusual, they may ask for photos of it if you can get any good ones. Was there any reason it wasn't reported to them immediately upon receipt? They may ask you about that too.

The matte screen on the NP9150 is absolutely amazing, can be used indoors or out, and colors look great. The difference is so huge compared to the glossy screen on the last laptop. I will never buy a glossy again.

Thanks for the answer. The reason is mainly indecision. I really didn't want to send my laptop away. A screen swap though would be both convenient and without the risk of not arriving on time, since they wouldn't have to wait for my stuff to arrive first (I guess).

I'll try to work something out with my reseller on Monday.
