Hi, I own a Sager 9150s, with a gtx680m gpu ... Does anyone know if I can connect this to 3 external monitors seeing as how the back has a dvi, hdmi and displayport connection. Only reason I'm asking is a friend mentioned that in most cases you can only use 2 ports at a time. Any ideas?

    ...or Solutions?

It will only support one of those external ports at a time, you can use two of those if you turn off the laptop screen. If you want to use the laptop screen and two or more external monitors you will need a USB adapter.

Just a warning, the displaylink drivers (usb dongle) have a problem with the nvidia drivers so you will have problems in some games (in my case LoL and Skyrim) where you will only be able to play them in window mode, with the only solution being uninstalling the drivers (unplugging the dongle isn't enough). The matrox is limited by the max res you can output from the DP Matrox Graphics - Support - GXM Compatibility List.

I found this out the hard way too. I got an external USB powered LCD and even with it disconnected and service disabled, some games just won't run. Shogun 2 will run in windowed mode only, and Resident Evil 6 won't at all, and an odd little game called Thunder Wolves won't run at all either. I'm sure there's more, those are just the ones I noticed after I installed the drivers for the USB LCD. I really wanted and external portable LCD.
