I got this baby last monday and everything is fine except one thing: the sleep mode and the ability to wake the machine up from sleep mode.
I just recently checked the Device manager today and i was surprised that both keyboard and the touch pad does not have the Option for "wake up the computer" as all other laptop.
I mean,it WILL NOT wake the computer up from the sleep mode either you touch the touchpad or press a button on the keyboard.

I didnt have much time to chat with Hutsady today but i have been testing the same thing in the last few hours.
Now i realize that my computer will go completely off if i re-open the lid after closing it from the sleep mode. Like a Power-Corruption between the mainboard and the battery.

Here is how i do it:
    1. Unplug the machine
    2. Put the computer to sleep mode through Start Menu
    3. Wait for it to be put in sleep mode
    4. Close the lid
    5. Wait about 10 secs
    6. Reopen the lid

Right after i reopen the lid, 90% of the time, the machine will shut off right away. Press the power button once doesn't help, touching keyboards, touch pads doesn't help. Only option is to hold the power button for about 1-2secs and then the machine reboot itself. if i don't enable Hybrid Sleep Mode, it will restart fresh and then notice me about the last shut down was not normal and offer a safe boot ...etc. If i enable the Hybrid Sleep Mode, it will start the machine back like i do with Hibernate.
With normal laptops , it will have an option for waking up device with keyboard or mouse, but i can't even find one here, which is absolutely weird.
I want to ask if anyone around here have the same problem? because something, i often turn the machine into sleep mode to walk to different room and then wake it up to continue working. But now , this is kinda annoying as hell and also make me worried about the system health. I have just received this on last Monday and now the best failure i can think of is the Battery Failure (there must be kind of power corruption in the sleep mode between the battery and the mainboard).
I am waiting for several answers before i go wild with Windows re-installing and maybe requesting a BIOS from Xotic as well.

Here is a quick video to describe the problem.

I have tried with the battery only, or without the battery, even the Clean Boot (without any extra process)

You can see the default keyboard and the touch pad does not have the option for waking up the device, but my Steelseries Sensei does. When i try to wake it up, it shut off right away from sleep mode. And in the event log , there is a log about the Power Corruption for the Windows Kernels

So... nobody here have the same problem?
My best guess right now is the problem with the BIOS or the mainboard itself. I will wait for Sager to contact me tomorrow or i will have to reach out to them for a BIOS to flash...
Sending the machine back right now for a RMA is not very ideal ... several projects are coming up.

I had the EXACT same problem. Posted a while ago on some thread where you mentioned it again.

I think the way to fix this was to reinstall Windows, I am not sure though... try making a backup, and reinstalling or check your Power Options, maybe you've set the HDD to shutdown after a period of time, hard to tell

Ha... you were talking about if i had SSD or not :)
I am not having one tho.
i have already reinstalled Windows and it doesn't help it.
I am still waiting for the answer from Xotic... might call them again tonight... Eric from Xotic sent me an email, i replied and he hasn't get back to me...

About the Power Option, it doesn't have to do much thing tho.
I can just turn on the thing, and set it to sleep mode and it still exists.

Do you think it could be the BIOS?

Maybe it could.. It's hard to say really since they isn't much to do

I think RMA is the only option

Since i have several project due VERY SOON. so unless Sager/Xotic can RMA quick and ship it fast back, i will have to wait...
Right now , i have to wait for it to get in Hibernate everytime i tend to move around.

Okay... I know it is weird...
But Xotic got back to me today with an odd solution.
FN+F4 to wake up the machine from sleep mode...
And i did the trick, the thing wake up like nothing and ready to work...while i tried with others thing and it shut down like nothing...
So why Clevo/Sager even bother make thing x100 complicated by assigning only a combination of key to wake the machine up? While all other way will just shut the thing down ? From my experience , Power Corruption can lead to hardware damage in long term.

    ---Update----
after the first success... the FN+F4 is no longer working... the machine will power out ...again

Win7 shuts down when waking from sleep mode - Microsoft Community

This is going to be great... Motherboard changed? Turn out to be Motherboard Error after all?
    Great... Now what. hardware issue...

Can somebody please post the version of BIOS you guys are having?
It might be the problem with the BIOS because i am having the latest one from Sager (released back in September i believe)
