Lame thread but kinda urgent: Sagers shipped recently are without the carrying cases that came as standard. However mine got shipped with a carrying case after I had instructed my friend in the US who's bringing it with her to get me a carrying case for it.

Any pictures/reviews of the carrying case that comes with the NP9170? Is it flimsy and cheap or should I keep it and tell me my friend not to get a new expensive one?

I would not trust my $2k laptop with it. It is pretty basic with no padding. Go for the one from the store. I'll take a pic and edit this post. Hang on :)

It's a nice gesture I guess. I use it to store my computer tools

That's actually pretty nice, I hope I'll get one of those with my order.

I don't plan on moving my laptop at all, just to carry it around with me once or twice in its lifetime, so it'll actually come in handy for me.

    Thanks for the screenshots!

I actually like the case, the only problem is the strap is a little short, but it can easily be replaced.

Haha somehow I posted the same pic twice. Meant to do two pictures.

It isnt a bad case for sure. Average I would say. But of you use your laptop for work or school, I would not carry it to and fro in this thing. No padding so any bumps will be felt right on the laptop. If you use it on the occasion, sure it will be good fit for you :)

And I agree, the strap is too short. Hehe

+rep thanks a lot for the pics.

No I would not trust the laptop with it. It looks flimsy. I have a really nice case-logic case that served me well for the past 5 years and remains near new despite all the abuse, and I'll use it for the Sager. It's great that they included it though, so my friend can have something to transport it in from the US to the Middle East instead of sticking it in her luggage and risking going over the allowed weight on the plane.

Would you mind taking a shot of it from a different angle instead of just on top?

It is incredibly cheap. The loop sewed into the case that holds the strap (not even the strap itself) tore out of mine in about 3-4 weeks and I can't even put a strap back on it without sewing the loop back in. I would highly recommend getting a real case and one with padding.

It'll do for one intercontinenal flight :) I'm surprised they included because I remember a thread here not long ago decrying Sager for stopping to supply the carrying cases. Got a little bonus I suppose even if flimsy :p
