Hi There,
Recently when I've been using my NP9261 I've noticed that the screen goes a bit funny in Windows Vista Ultimate x86. I don't really know how to describe it, but it kinda looks like the screen shakes a bit, like it is about to change resolutions very quickly. It's almost like a refresh rate issue, similar to old CRT monitors that shake right after they've switched resolutions.
I should note that this problem ONLY occurs while using Windows. I've never seen the screen do this in Bios/boot up, or while playing any 3D games. I've read that it could possibly be a loose LCD invertor cable, but if that was the case, then why does it only occur in Windows and not during bootup or in games.
The problem seems to be linked to when I'm loading up a program. For instance, sometimes right after I load up Winamp, the screen might shake a bit (it lasts less than 1 second) and then goes back to normal. Occasioanlly, when I'm using internet explorer, the screen might shake as well.
When I'm doing nothing on the computer and it's just sitting on the windows desktop, it never seems to happen. I guess it only happens when there's 2D movement on the screen.
It doesn't happen very frequently, but enough to make me wonder if it will get worse or if it's a pre-cursor to another problem.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Obvious questions first: have you tried reinstalling your video driver? If you haven't, I would start there, since there's always a possibility something is just "off" with your current driver's 2D handling. The latest drivers Sager has released are available from:
Vista 32:

Vista 64:

Your thought about motion on the screen triggering the problem is intriguing. Have you tried moving a window back and forth on screen to see if that triggers the issue?
I would tend to agree that it's probably not a loose cable, since you would be seeing the shaking at random intervals, and in every environment, regardless of whether something is moving on-screen or not. -
I've experienced the same issue using drivers 169.04 and 169.09, from laptopvideotogo.com.
I haven't tried moving windows around on the desktop to see if that triggers, but I will do when I get home from work. I'll alse see if it stops when I disable Aero, maybe that might be it. I'm hoping it's software related and not hardware related! -
I'm still having the same issues. Anyone have any ideas what it could be?
