Well being that I have gotten some great advice here in the past I figured this would be the best place to come for guidance on my current state of affairs. I have had my Sager NP9262 since 2008 and decided I can no longer wing it with this machine and need to upgrade for the work I do (resource intensive web graphic design & development). I have put A LOT of money into this machine, almost $4k, so I would like to get as much out of it as I can.

My main question is whether I should sell it as is with all the parts together, or if I will have better luck selling the parts individually?

The outside casing that holds it def could use replacement, as anyone with this particular laptop knows how easily the hinges break off and certain parts crack. So I doubt anyone would be buying this laptop for anything other than parts. I am going to use the money towards a custom desktop build that I need to get as soon as possible, which is one reason I am hesitant to try and sell part by part, because I need the money asap.

Here are the specs and their condition to give you an idea:
I had issues with the Nvidia 9800m GT that came with it and upgraded to the Nvidia Quadro FX 3700m (MXM) graphics cards. (Model NB9E-GLM3)
I also upgraded to 8GB of RAM.
There are 2 internal Hard drives that come with it, both 320GB.
The keyboard is missing the "Enter" key, but I still have the key and part to attach key so it could possibly be fixed but would likely be best for extra keys.
    Still has original heatsinks, fans.
I believe the battery is shot as it will not hold a charge at all.
The motherboard is in perfect working condition as far as I know (Will be running diag as I would never sell anyone a defective mobo)
I have original Sager DVD that came with it
I think I covered all parts off the top of my head, let me know if there is anything else that might help give a better answer.

I am hoping to pull at least $600 out of it if sold all together, given the upgrades, etc.

I am tight with money so every dollar counts and I need to make the best executive decision here so I can get working on a new build

. How much should I prepare myself on spending if I build my own custom desktop from scratch that will perform well with Adobe products / graphic design / multi-tasking (Don't really game at all, maybe Call of Duty but that's it)? How well could I do with $1,000-1,200?

I have sold here once before so I would think this forum might be my best bet? Not sure what the demand is for these parts but I know from experience they aren't easy to come by and cost a fortune if bought from sager or the manufacturer, esp the video card.

Any and all advice welcome, thanks in advance.

no idea on price but its been mentioned many times that breaking up parts will make more money.
i think we all suffered with the 9800gt which lasted me 2 years and now upgraded to 260 in my m860tu which is still going strong as a backup.

might also be worth posting on the nbr market place NBR Marketplace

Yeah I am going to list it in the marketplace but trying to make up my mind on whether to list it as one unit or piece by piece.
