I'm very close to buying a Sager NP9262 with a Q9550 Quad Core CPU at 2.83GHz and a 1333MHz FSB. I'm only going to go with a single GeForce 9800M GTX video card.

Since this laptop uses Desktop CPUs, I looked at Intel's processor spec finder to see the wattage for each CPU. The Q9550 uses 95W while all the Core 2 Duo E8000 series only use 65W of power.

I think any CPU that uses much more than 65W of power in a laptop seems like too much heat. I do want a quad core though.

So, does the BIOS in this laptop allow the multiplier to be lowered and for the voltage to be lowered to reduce the power consumption to 65WATTS or less.

Or does Clevo/Sager undervolt the desktop CPUs that they put in laptops and test them at stock speed so they are stable and use less power?

im running a 130 watt extreme cpu which is lower in temps than most 95 watt or lower cpus. and it doesn't run that hot at all...unless you feel mid 60's is extremely hot under very hard working conditions. idle doing nothing and sitting flat on a hard wood desk, temps are at 41c on two cores and 32 on the other 2 cores. that's with no fans running.
