Sager NP9262 In-stock & in final testing phase...should begin shipping on December 28th

Sager NP9262 are in stock and have reached the final testing phase, Sager is planning to start shipping with the single nVIDIA GeForce 8800M w/512MB GDDR3 to Sager customers on Friday 12/28/2007 if it passes the final testing.

Sager customers who have placed dual card orders should contact their reseller if they wish to have their order shipped first with single card installed. The 2nd card will be shipped once Sager receives the finalized Video BIOS, SLi capable drivers and SLi Flex Cable. This is expected to happen by late February.

Awesome news. Sager goes through a lot to make sure the product they send out is safe and reliable. Congratulations to everyone who ordered one of these monsters.

 

Donald, do you think there might be an issue down the road with the VBios in the 1st 8800M GTX's? I.e. will the end users have to flash them if they want to get them to work with a 2nd card? Or will new drivers + cable + new VBios in 2nd card be all that is necessary? Any ideas or is it still up in the air? Thanks!

so does this mean that they will be shipping from sager to the resellers and then to the customers starting today if they pass testing? If that is the case then resellers might not be starting to ship them until monday or tuesday.

 

In most cases Sager ships directly to the customer.

However in rare cases they will ship to the reseller first, so you should check with your reseller to see how your order is being handled.

 

I just saw on Sager's website that SLI config is delayed until the end of Feb 08.

Saw that before. From what I read, everyone will get one card and get the upgrade later. Of couse, you have better info than I.

 

That is correct. I think I stated that in the post that started this thread.

 

I see. I saw a lot of different dates floating around. 28 Dec, 15 Jan and now 28 Feb. Hopefully everyone gets their computers as soon.

 

Right...the SLi version was originally scheduled to release mid-to-late January, but nVIDIA pushed the release date for the SLi drivers back to late February just a few days ago.

Testing has completed on the 9262 and shipments will start today and Wednesday.
