I love this laptop so far, I have had minimal issues and its really great. But today I decided to test the speakers and they seem fine except there is NO BASS. I do have the default speakers so their is nothing fancy or anything but I think I should at least get some bass, especially since it has a subwoofer (I think) my shure earbuds do a better job with bass than this laptop. Anyway I can fix this?

A decent pair of ear headphones will always outperform notebook speakers.

I agree with you their. I am also not saying the quality is terrible for the speaker on the notebook, I am just saying their is NO BASS and was wondering if their was a way to fix that?

Have you tried the headphone output? On EM series, the headphone output is laughing stock of any device that has headphone jack. It's flabbergasting how bad it is.

my sager 8130 came with an app--THX tru studio pro. without that enabled, bass is lacking. have you got that app? if so, use the Crystalizer to increase bass.

As dave1812 mentioned, make sure you have the right settings set up in the THX software.

There will never be bass in any clevo, ever. Reason being - they won't install quality speakers.

You mean they actually put any speakers in these things? I thought it was just the electrical components yelling to save them with a sticker slapped on the case. lol

It baffles me how such a great machine can be faulted by a few cheap parts being cheaped out on.

When I was visiting China on a vacation in 2007, I saw what kind of speakers they used on "medium-sized" venues and concerts.
Man, we will not even mention the quality. But whats more disturbing was the volume was equally lacking....
Had they invested in just a couple of proven pro audio speakers, it would even be cheaper than stacking a pile of chinese c.r.a.p to produce a sound that's less dynamic than my grandma's phone speaker.

Same stuff here - if I solder in some headphone speakers on my laptop, it will actually have some mid-bass coming out of it. A $15 pair of headphones is all it takes for me to do that.
But then again, what would I do with my warranty after that....

Tell you what, I would have paid even $50 or more for my laptop if they had installed some good speakers in it. Even $100 (if the sound was THAT good).

To fix bass for stereo headphones:
    Open THX Software
    Select 'headphones' from the settings
    Set Crossover Frequency to 1000hz

I have never tried out the built-in speakers in my 2 months of use(I use a headphone and am too lazy to try it out just for the sake of trying it out xD). Anyhow, if you feel you are getting no bass, just try to set the crossover frequency to 1000hz if it allows u to. That will channel all the bass to main speakers.
