The other day I tried listening to a song out load rather then earbuds to see how much bass I could get and to my surprise there is nothing. I tried other bass tests just to make sure there actually was bass in the song and I can confirm there is because I listen to it from my earbuds and sure enough I can hear bass.

I tried this right here and literally when I say there is no bass I dont mean there is only a little bit, I mean there is none.

I thought the problem was that I didnt have SBX prostudio installed so I installed that, and put bass up to 100% and still...... nothing.

I put my hand underneath the subwoofer and I would assume that if it where working i would clearly be able to tell its the subwoofer making the vibrations, the only thing I slightly felt where the vibrations from the main speakers. I really really hope its not defective because I really dont want to send it back. What can I try to fix this?

It's unlikely that the sub is bad; honestly, the Onkyo speakers just don't have much punch. You will find a lot of users on here with similar gripes against the sound system.

If you're confident it's a defective sub, then there's not much you can do other than send it in to your supplier for inspection.

Im not confident that it is defective. I am just looking for a sure way to see if the sub works or not.

Try putting in a DVD movie which has 5.1 sound, the .1 may kick the sub into action.
