Expecting to receive my 9750 sometime next week. Obviously, the anticipation is driving me MADD!! billions of questions... but I'll just address one of them... concerning the four fans in the base of this beast.
Would this notebook be too loud for quiet environments like a classroom or library? Obviously, I wouldn't be gaming in either of these environments so the fans wouldn't be running at full throttle, but, nonetheless, would it sound like I was running a projector in the room?
Can any of you 9750 owners give me an idea of just how much noise this thing makes? Thanks.
Oh... and feel free to share any other information regarding the NP9750. I feel like a giddy child awaiting santa's visit.![]()

I'm on an Alienware Aurora M7700 at the moment, it's the same thing as a Sager 9750.
The fans are quite noticable, always you can hear them. I don't think it would be that annoying in a library. It's perfectly quiet right now in the room I'm in; every once in a while the GPU fan kicks in, that's the loudest one. It is noticable. Although, I don't think it would be that annoying. The back ones stay at a fairly constant speed, they're not as noticable.
Kind of hard to explain the noise level, let me know if I can clarify anything.

Thanks for the feedback, Chaz. My primary concern is not wanting to disrupt other students in classrooms. However, when I gave it a second thought, almost every classroom I'll be using this notebook in either has 20-30 desktop systems running already... or the lecturer has a digital projector running. I don't think the occasional GPU uproar will be a bother.

Yeah, I don't think it will be a problem. The GPU fan is the only one that is actually prominent. The back one(s) (There are four fans total; three go out the back) have a fairly quiet hum/whir, sound is constant. Quite bearable in my opinion. You'll know it when the GPU fan kicks in. That comes on occasionally, and when its off, the notebook is quiet indeed!
The Clevo D900K (aka 9750) has a very good cooling system. The notebook itself stays nice and cool; cooler than most other notebooks you'd see in Best Buy, etc. I think mainly because it is thick - a lot of room for the heat to escape.
Nice pick on the notebook! -
Sagebrush (love that handle, btw), I share the pain of your anticipation, and I haven't even made the purchase yet.
Glad you're coming up with good questions about the 9750 while you're waiting on yours to arrive. I'm learning from what you ask and the good answers you get. Keep us posted as more thoughts come to you, and by all means report on the big arrival and its breaking-in. -
I'm glad you've been gleaning from my curiosity. The big arrival should happen sometime tomorrow (wednesday). Hoping to have a full review posted by the weekend.
