    Hello guys!

I just registered to these forums to post this thread. I've been reading threads here for a couple weeks looking for information regarding the Sager NP9750-V.

I bought the NP9750-V on February 2006, it has had some issues since then like: battery dying, sound working randomly, all fans dying off (had to use Fn + F2 when I cold booted the laptop to make them work) and recently the 7800 go gtx video card died on me (I had to press down on the unit to make it work previously).

I sent it to Sager to get the parts replaced and fix whatever else was wrong with the unit. Their response was that only the video card was damaged and that they'd replace it. Great!

The bad thing is that apparently the only video card that can *ever* be replaced/installed in the NP9750-V is the 7800 go GTX. They told me no other video card is available for the system and that they needed to order a Refurbished one off some other company since the parts have been discontinued.

Obviously this upset me; I bought this system and have used it for almost all operations and it has worked wonderfully, but now that I need a simple replacement they tell me everything has been discontinued and there is absolutely no upgrade to the unit other than a refurbished item that wouldn't technically be an upgrade.

I asked specifically to replace/upgrade the video card to a 7950 Go GTX but they told me its not compatible, nothing but the 7800 go GTX works.

I told them to go ahead and order the refurbished card since apparently I have no other option.

Is there anything I can do? Are they correct in stating that I can't get a better replacement on my unit?

Thanks for your attention and reading my post, I appreciate any help or input you guys may give to me.

As far as their warranty goes, they are only obligated to replace with the same/similar part. Not a newer part as you ask.

You have the same notebook as me, Clevo D900K.

You can upgrade to only the previous generation modules:
    - 7950GTX (the last module for this generation)

You can contact vendors like www.eurocom.com for parts.
