    Hello everyone,

So i'm due to receive my new "Phoenix" machine in about 9 days and i'm hoping i can get some tips and advice from the more educated users here. First of all my build:

    Sager NP9870-S (Clevo P870DM-G)
    1 x Intel 6700K cpu
    1 x Windows® 10 Pro 64-Bit Edition Preinstalled (Clean Install | Drivers Only | No Bloatware)
    1 x SLI (2x) - NVIDIA® GeForce™ GTX 980M (16.0GB total) GDDR5 PCI-Express DX12 (Maxwell)
    1 x 500GB Samsung 850 EVO M.2 SSD
    1 x 500GB Samsung 850 EVO M.2 SSD (Raid 0)
    2 x 1TB 7200RPM [SATA II - 3GB/s] (Raid 0)

I know i need to create a backup disk and a restore point. It's been awhile since i've done a fresh install of windows have they found a way to create a fresh install with drivers in one program yet or is that still two separate steps?
Also any advice for optimization of the machine would be greatly appreciated. I've been reading a lot about the "prema" bios and not sure what advantages that sets in place. I'm a reborn gamer after about 15 years and looking forward to stellar graphics but also decent number crunching using programs like autocad and such.

Thanks in advance for all the great words of wisdom and i look forward to conversing with such great minds on this new journey.

So drivers and windows install will be two separate steps, no way to combine them together.

Typically speaking i say don't mess with the BIOS unless you have to.

It's doable, but technical and would have to be tailored specifically to each build. There are driver utilities out there, but I don't trust them. :nah: That said, a clean install will warrant loading all the drivers one by one - unless you create a batch file to do the leg work for you.

Prema's BIOS gives you more control over a lot of technical parameters, but if you're not wise to them, it's better to avoid them (at least until you have a better grasp on what you're looking at). The P870DM is the pinnacle in mobile performance, so I think it will treat you pretty well, even with the stock BIOS. Be sure to use a good thermal compound!

If you are installing the SSDs in RAID 0 mode, while at the partition screen of Windows, hit load driver, then navigate to where you have the latest IRST/AKA RAID driver in. I usually place that folder on the Windows 10 USB stick for ease of access while installing.

It may be able to read them with the stock driver with SATA devices.
