Looking at picking up a Sager NP9870-S or similar, but I'm curious if it will fit in my current setup.

Currently, I use an LX550 ( http://www.amazon.com/3M-Adjustable-Vertical-Laptop-LX550/dp/B0006HVM4A) with an external keyboard. All of the photos I can find of the Sager notebooks show the screen either half-open or completely closed, which is not much help. Can anyone with the same or a similar model confirm that the Sager screen could generally open well past 90 degrees (to 135 degrees or more) in order to accommodate this sort of setup?

Yes it opens past 90 to something like 130 degrees. It doesn't open ~180 degrees like a lot of smaller laptops do. IMG_20160106_162518.JPG
