    Hi friends!
I've been searching for good gaming laptop and now come down to Np 8662 and 5797. Knowing that the differences are the screens + graphic cards. Can you guys give me some suggestion which one I should get?
One more question is that, since I'm not US citizen, so this July I will fly back my country. How long does it take to receive the laptop? Right now I'm in Pennsylvania.
    Thank you so much!

Due to the fact that I'm a student so the budget is not really decent. After the configurations of 2 laptops, the costs are between $1500 to $1700. But if you have some recommendation, I will be interested in listening.
    Thanks :)
PS: I want a gaming laptop!

If you have the budget for it, the NP5797 would be ideal. As a student, the NP8662 would be more ideal for portability.
I think the NP8662 would be the smarter purchase as I don't think you'll need the extra graphics power or lager screen. Plus with the $200 in savings, you can invest in a decent laptop cooler, accessories, or just save money in general.

Although not really a question the thread starter asked, I felt this question was fairly appropriate in this thread so creating another wasn't necessary.

Anyway, what's the performance difference between a NP8662 and a NP5797? (Considering both have the same CPU and RAM) Is there a lot of difference in terms of gaming fps or 3d mark 06 score (even if it isn't accurate these days).

If configuration same then performance same, but M57 is cooler than M86.

    Let's not forget this one-

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=384347

At the very least, it should give you an idea as far as what to expect performance wise. Plus, if you feel that this system is not enough, the price is already so low you can resell it at a good price and the buyer's remorse are minimal. The latest and greatest are not necessarily always the best.

Maybe XPS M1730 would be my option since I will be to type a lot in my dorm at night, so the light from the keyboard is an advantage.
Just a quick question, when you mention about dual 8800GTX, what does that mean? 'cause when I got to the customizing part, I see "NVIDIA® SLI™ Dual GeForce® 8700M GT 512MB GDDR3 ". Does it mean that you have 2 graphic cards and each one has 512MB -> 2 cards are 1024MB. Tell me if I'm wrong.

2 512MB cards are 512MB. That's just how sli works. However, 2 8800M GTX is faster than the 260M or 280M for games that support sli, which is the majority.

The NP5797 has better GPU perfomance... and It's CPU is more overclockable than that of the NP8662.

    You sick, sick man :p
