    Hey everyone,

I bought this laptop 11 months ago from GenTech PC.
Everything works fine but yesterday my mom accidentally made a little crack on the bottom of my screen which messed up the entire screen. Now i am not able to see anything.

I contacted Sager but they told me my warranty does not cover accidental damage. So, they asked me to pay $400 bucks just to change teh damn screen. I said to myself, forget it.. it's too expansive.

Now, i am just trying to figure out where i can buy the same screen model that will fit in my laptop so i can install it myself. Also, i am trying to disassemble my laptop to take the screen out but there seems to be this plastic cover that blocks me from taking out the white cord from inverter. I have the screen shots attatched.

How would i take the plastic cover off? i am scared i might brake it.

    Anyway help would be appreciated

    Thanks

    Those prices are BAD.

These people basically get tips as to what the cheapest compatible screens are and then they have a business.

Match the connector type and brand to a screen that says EXACT on Ebay, NOT replacement.

Should be 100$ or less for 1600x900.

i do not see an inverter connected to my laptop screen like most of the tutorials done by other people. All i see is video cable doest that mean i only need to deattach the video cable only to replace the screen?

Here is the screenshot of back of my screen:

Inverters are to power the ccfl backlight. No CCFL - no inverter...

As long as the connector is in the right place, why wouldn't it?

Ok screen seems to be working but i am still getting blue screen of death.

I don't think this is caused by switching to new screen because it started to happen since the day my laptop screen cracked.

    'PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA'

    Blue screen message i get

Bluescreen occurs right after the screen that says window starting...

So far i tried system restore to earlier date, startup repair , safemode don't work.

    Any suggestion?

I've had to switch my screen in the past for my dell. I don't know if sager has flashing lights to indicate waht wrong, but if your numlock, caps lock, and scroll lock flashes a certain combination, itll tell you what is wrong. I had the problem of a loosened memory stick. Try that first before you wipe everything.

I checked my memory sticks they were tightly secured.

I might consider returning the screen (They told me the screen is compatible but they might be lying..?)

Could it be that the screen is not compatible or defective?
