hey guys i was thinking of purchasing the sager 8690 and i had to sacrifice some memory because it was outside of my budget, but if i get it with 4 gigs of 1333 mem is it easily upgradeable to 6 or 8 gigs in the future? if so how much? and i hear its fine with 4 gigs, is that true?
    thanks

If you don't know you need more than 4 GB, you will never need more than 4 GB. If you do eventually need more than that, which I doubt, prices will be much cheaper than today, so save your money. :D

4GB is really enough to be honest. And yes it's really easy to upgrade in the future; just take the old RAM sticks out and put new ones in.

I only ever move it to play games somewhere else. :p

The battery life is only really an issue if you're sure you'll be using it away from an outlet. I don't believe college students need much battery. The university I went to had outlets in every classroom--some in each row of seats--and spread out pretty well over campus.

Not designed for an allday use. This thing is a powerhouse so yeah, battery life won't be great. Expect to see 1 hour or less.

    There is no battery life.

Buying a gaming laptop means you're investing in a beast that feeds off power, as opposed to a longer battery life.

What exactly do you mean by "how much portability"? Would you bring it around playing games or any other reason? It certainly isn't as light as consumer laptops no, and bringing a spare battery or the power brick with you around when you tend to need your laptop on the go might help. But this can get pretty heavy :D
