    Sager Ordering help/Xotic Skin Question

    So I don't know which reseller is better to buy from

    XOTIC PC or Powernotebooks

    I would also like to know how nice the custom skin is from Xotic, and where I can look at designed, I clicked the link and you can only see the ones for desktops.

    I would like to know from people who have ordered from Xotic how nice the
    Custom Laptop Skins [Choose from our designs or your own Graphic or Logo - (artwork set up fee for custom skins) ] is.

    Let me know if you know where I can look at those skins, and if you think it is worth buying a notebook with a custom skin.

    Let me know what company is better in your opinion and why, if there is another company you recommend let me know, and again tell me why.

    you can get a custom paint job or custom skin through XoticPC

    either vendor is good, you cannot lose with either. :)

    its the cheaper route than having a full custom paintjob

    I think a number of members here had tried both.

    I went with XoticPC because of how helpful Justin always is. He is a regular on these forums and will probably answer your questions here by tomorrow. :D

    Plus he offers some cool deals on things like replacing parts like the motherboard with newer parts after they get released. The custom paint jobs are also very nice.

    10/10 in my book so far. (just ordered yesterday so...)

    I ordered from Xotic with a full paint job, and they were very friendly and helpful. Even when I changed from a skin to a paint job and changed my order a bit after paying for it they did it without a problem. They have answered all my questions and if it hadn't had been for the paint job I would have gotten my system VERY quickly. I have not received my nb yet, so I can't tell you the quality of the paint job, but I did read many great things on these forums about their work and think I will be very happy with it.

    does anyone know what this entails...? it was an 89$ option, but I don't know what it does to the actual laptop? Does this just mean the outside over of the laptop will be painted?

    No it will be a neoprene type skin for the laptop. Similar to the skins they have for ipods and such.

    Yeah its how marketing works. People would rather pay for a 2000 notebook with a 500 discount than an identical notebook that was priced 1500 the whole time. Stores do it all the time (ZOMG 30-50% off! everything).

    Marketing-wise, you probably also get some go from what I call the 99-cent behavioralism - the tendency of some people to psychologically overrate the value difference between, say, $2,000 and $1,999.99 - basically, the latter is treated as somehow more than just 0.01 less than the former because of having crossed the thousands boundary.

    So, your pricing not only takes advantage of some people's need to get a "bargain" irrespective of economic equivalency, but also takes advantage (no pun intended :D ) of the 99-cent behavioralism as well.
