    Hello forum. Been a while.

I swear I must be cursed when it comes to laptop microphones because they consistently refuse to work around me.

I'm having trouble getting my mic to work on this system.

In Recording devices I have four options.

    An internal AUX Jack
    Microphone
    Microphone
    Line in

Regardless of which I set as default it will not pick up sound.

How do I rectify this issue?

If you plug in an analog mic and it does not record sound... something is more likely wrong with the mic?

If the internal mic records sound you should be fine

Does the internal mic work? If so then it probably is a hardware issue with the external mic or port vs a software/setting.

    Hi again guys.

    Thanks for the response.
I've been trying to configure this but have several microphones listed under the devices list and regardless of which I set to the default device.

I'm thinking of just buying this and plugging in my Razer headset.

Is this recommended or can I find an external clip on mic that uses a USB port?

Have you gone into the realtek audio panel and in the microphone section tried the different devices there?

Does the green bar next to the device in Recording devices show any activity? Or are you testing the microphone(s) through something else?

    Hi again forum.

Installed Realtek audio drivers and software shows it's recognising the headset.
Green bar shows feedback using an external.

Thanks for the response - I've managed to fix via disabling DFX and using an external mic on my Razer headset, but still no feedback from internal.

    Thoughts?

If the internal just won't work regardless of settings then checking it is plugged in properly is the next step, if you are not sure about it call your reseller.

If no workarounds have your internal mic working and the physical connection is good, you might be looking at a bad mic. It's rare, but it can happen.
