The speakers in my 2098 I would rate Passable - Fair. They have trouble with accurate bass reproduction and begin to lose focus on moderately high pitches. I'd list what I've tested this with, but that review is forthcoming.

Plug in some headphones and away you go; the sound is excellent then.

The onboard speakers on my M570TU aren't too bad. They are still tinny like all other laptop speakers, but they good enough for my music and games.

    rating system
    0 garbage
    1-4 below average
    5 normal computer speakers
    6-7 above average
8-9 make someone turn around and stay is that coming from a laptop
10 perfect. i love it. not one single thing is wrong with it. AND IT DIDN'T HAVE TO BE EQUILAZIED TO SOUND GOOD. EVERYTHING CAN GET ONE UP IF YOU BELIEVE YOU NEED A EQUILAZER TO SOUND GOOD.
this is compared to the laptops below:
acer 3860= -2(2 speakers standard)OWNED. crap i would give it a -10 but that means i'm a mean person. it was low and did sound good at all. headphones in at all times.. EQ NEED TO SOUND OK BUT STILL GARBAGE

hp dv9640us=6(also two speakers but from Altec Lansing OWNED. very good and loud. i had all the bells but the bass was messing. it was loud and the quality was good. i loved them.EQ WAS ON BUT SOMETIME WOULD FORGET BECAUSE IT SOUND GREAT.

ocz whitebook=5(2.1 speaker) OWNED. i excepted much better for my first 2.1 speaker. i excepted for the sub to play bass not mid. it also didn't play any bass at all. like they forget what the definition of sub woofer was. but it was loud and the treble was excellent on it. EQ NEEDED. I COULDN'T PLAY MUSIC WITH OUT IT.

Hp dv7???=9. would be a ten but i didn't own to do a full system test)(Altec Lansing 2.1 speakers) i didn't test this alot. it is the best speker i have everyheard. you hear the bass knocking in it. and it ranged from 50-100mhz. it was very good. it seems they focused on the famous 60mhz. i loved it and movies was like woah. it did turn heads and was very good. NO EQ REQUIRED AND IT WOULD OF GOTTEN A 10 BUT I DIDN'T HAVE THE NOTEBOOK MY SELF IN ORDER TO TEST IT.

i made all these comparsion just in case you have heard one of these laptop and when i speak about the sager you will understand it better.

i have the np9262 and it's not bad at all. it has four speakers and i'm a music person. i love music and the quality to me does matter and for laptop speakers.
    rating
i would give this a 7-8 out of ten because i have heard better.

    detail eq
    bass 7/10
the bass could be alittle deeper and the bass could of been alittle bit louder. you hear it nice in most songs. but when the db goes lower(under 70mhz) it tends to sound like light knocking. otherwise it would of gotten one more point. i'm a big fan of music being perfect and the bass didn't knock fot it to be perfect. i stress on the bass because that's where most laptops get killed. i think if this had a nice 2' sub and let the other speakers focus on other sounds. it would be perfect. nonetheless it's over average and deserves a 7 because of the fact for no sub, it does a good job. EQ was also required otherwise it would get a jump in one more point

    mid
    9/10
the mid range is almost perfect the voices sound loud and clear even at higher volumes. at maxed about eq boosted up. you hear very little cracking. thats where the missing point is. but this is over average for most laptop and it even though its a strong point for all laptops this exceeds it.
    high 8/10
    the treble
it would get 9 but at very loud it seems to crack alittle also. you can however hear the treble and it's very clear. seems like it would be perfected it if had dedicated speakers to it.

this system overall seems like they spent some time on it to make it sound clear.

My 5793's speakers are not particularly good. Playing with the equalizer can improve them somewhat, but for playing music or stuff where I want good sound I switch over to my Macbook Pro, or my desktop.

I would rate the sound comming out of my m570tu based system crappy, it can be quite loud but it's really tinny.
I liked the sound on my old acer 5920g, after some tweaking the sound of the m570tu can be made bareable but if you don't like to use headphones do yourself a favor and get some speakers for your laptop (I use creative n400 usb speakers and theyre really nice imo).

its decent, too much trebble--little bass, better than my old laptop.
but that doesn't really matter, since $20 external speakers would be better than any laptop speakers

Not much bass, good midrange, highs are fine after EQ adjustments (carpeted hallway).

Be sure to update to the latest Realtek driver, as the CDs come with an outdated version.

K thank you, Ill be purchasing one soon and I wasn't sure what to expect. I never really used laptop speakers before anyways because most of them suck. This is a little off-topic but are there any problems with noise interference on the headphone jacks? I've had a number of laptops with that sort of issue.
