Sager Warranty question

Right now I'm trying to decide if I want the 2 year warranty instead of 1.
I read the warranty page on Sager website, it says the warranty covers all parts with the Sager logo on it. So... what are some parts in the laptop that might break and will be covered by the warranty?

Sager will cover all parts such as RAM, Hard drive, cpu, screen, etc... that go bad through normal use within the warranty period. Some vendors also provide accidental warranty coverage to include what is not covered by Sager, such as physical damage that occurs when the laptop is accidentally dropped or liquids spilled on it.

 

All the parts on the notebook are covered under warranty, however, the battery and ac adapter are only covered up to a year - so if you get a 2 or 3 year warranty, the battery and ac adapter will only be covered for the first year.

Also, the warranty doesn't protect against accidental damage. So, if you crack the casing or scratch the screen - that won't be covered.

 

If you are seriously looking to buy a Clevo, make sure you read and understand the difference in the warranties from the different boutiques. Xotic PC for instance basically just tosses the clevo machine back to Sager for any real repairs~ at least that is what they did with mine once it was anything that couldn't be handled over the phone.

Rather than buy from Sager or Xotic the next Clevo machine I buy will probably be through the Malibal people. Shopping around again I notice that their warranty states this: Includes FREE Shipping Both Ways And FREE Labor On All Upgrades in their Parts and Labor Warranty.

Since my Sager NP5760-V branded Clevo M57U notebook (purchased from Xotic PC two years, three months ago) is suffering from a dying Nvidia 7950 GTX video card can apparently only be sent back to Clevo for refurbishment that little fact in the warranty would have saved me many headaches and a bunch of money!

 

The battery warranty only covers defects and not normal use since it's considered a consumable item, correct?? So if the battery goes from 80 minutes runtime when new down to 30 minutes of runtime after 10 months, is that considered normal use and not covered under warranty?

 

The Standard Sager Warranty through Sager Resellers that brand them as a "Sager" includes Free Shipping to and from Sager for the Warranty Term. i.e. you have a 2 Year Sager Warranty you will get Shipping Coverage (3 Day) both ways to and from Sager for 2 Years.
