I am planning to swap my processor for a qx9300 from a P8600. I will be selling the P8600.
If somewhere down the road, the motherboard fails or any other component in my NP8662, will Sager honor the warranty and replace the motherboard or any other component? I won't have the P8600 to put back so it will not match their system record.
Thanks.

As long as you have a "compatible" CPU in the notebook, Sager will honor your warranty. However, the QX9300 is not one of those CPU's even though it is perfectly compatible with the latter motherboard revision of the M860TU.

So that means Sager won't honor the warranty?
For those who swapped the CPU, are you guys keeping the original processor just in case you need to send it back for RMA? -

If you want to keep a compatible backup CPU for RMA, you can buy a cheap T5250 or similar socket P CPU. http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=t5...mpt=Laptops_Nov05&_odkw=t4200+intel&_osacat=0
