    Greetings Posters,

This forum is now open to discussions of both Clevo and Sager notebooks; Sager only sells Clevos so it makes sense to have the same forum for them.
Posters do not have to put their Clevo questions in the Other Manufacturers forum now.

I would like to thank Gophn for the suggestion of this idea. Keep up the good work. :)

    Enjoy,
    Chaz

What Sager models are Clevo models? IE...Is the Sager 5760 a Clevo M570U? I am just curious as the M570U on the Clevo site seem to be identical to the 5760 but the Clevo site says that the RAM is expandable to 4gig!Here is the link to the Clevo M570U. http://www.clevo.com.tw/products/M570U.asp

All Sager models are Clevo models, although I do not know the model numbers of them all (not hard to look up though; check www.rjtech.com)

I'm going to merge your thread with one I just created.

I didn't realize Clevo questions were being posted in "other manufacturers". Good idea to combine them!

I was lured in by the new Forum name ;).

The Clevo M570U can have up to 2gig of RAM.

The Clevo site is technically a great source for 100% accurate info, as well as support and drivers. They always are a little behind on updating and correcting errors, I emailed a couple of times and it took them 3 weeks to fix a different error on another notebook.

EDIT: The Clevo M570U does support up to 4gigs of DDR2 (2 x 2gig sticks)... however Windows (including the new Vista) will only see 2.8gigs.

The Hypersonic Aviator CX7 actually show a new option for 4 gigs.

1 clevo question. I can't tell the differnce between 570u and 570a. seems to be a big price difference, but other than scren size, is there anyting else different.

also from what I could gather, some say 570a is 915-6 chipset, while 570u is 945-7 chipset. However both sager models based on above say both are 945-7's

I am down to 570a or 570a based models, or a asus g1 coming soon. I know asus build quality is top notch, how does clevo fair in quality

    thanks you

Clevo makes high quality notebooks as well.

The M570U is the higher-end one. It is available with a higher resolution screen (up to WUXGA) and the best GPU go 7950 GTX.

The M570U-A is a middle-ground. It has only the WXGA+ screen and can only go up to the go 7800 GTX--and only if you go with rjtech.com. Otherwise it's limited to the x1600.
