Has anyone purchased from Sager directly using a Visa gift card?

I am need to purchasing something and they want me to fax or email my credit card number. That's not going to happen, and my credit card company will not generate a one-time use number, so I was going to try a Visa gift card.

I have had issues with using these in the past so I was just wondering if anyone has tried using it at Sager. Thanks!

Didn't we just have an extremely similar thread on this exact same subject within the last week?

Why does Sager not have a online submit option?

Are you trying to ship to an address other than the billing address? If you are shipping to the billing address on the credit card, then Sager won't ask for a signed fax with your CC number.

Similar only in the sense it was about Sager requiring a credit card number sent in plain text, unencrypted over e-mail or via fax where it may not be destroyed and you have no control over who see's it. The thread did not give me the answer to my question.

It doesn't matter if it is emailed or faxed, they are both very insecure and primitive transaction methods.

Just setup a paypal account or go get a walmart money card, the money card with walmart will give a routing number and everything that can be used for sending electronic check transfers and you could just load on what you need for the purchase and if they ask for the card info you can provide it and trash the card/account after you pay for the laptop.
