anyone have any promotional codes for any of the sager retailers? sager.com, pctorque.com,xotic pc.com,discountlaptops.com, anything!
I really want/need the Np5791 and if I could find it for even $200 cheaper it would help out a college student!
-
there are always student discounts and cash discounts... etc...
contact the vendor to find the best prices possible

I have never seen any coupons for Clevo/Sager laptops. From what I understand, for the OEM's, there is just not enough markup to allow it.
For a notebook such as the NP5791, which is high-end/boutique type of laptop, you are pretty much stuck with the asking price. -
Sorry to bump, but Gophn is correct in this respect.
-
I've not seen any coupons out there. Your best bet is to contact the resellers yourself and perhaps they'll empathize with a poor college student and give you a li'l discount or free shipping.
Try Justin at XoticPC or Donald at Powernotebooks. Both frequent this forum daily. PM them and ask. Ya won't know unless you ask, right? Wouldn't hurt to grovel and beg a li'l bit either.Give them your best sobby story.
I'm sure they'll be able to help ya out with sum'in sum'in. $200 may be askin' a li'l bit too much though. Free shipping seems a li'l more reasonable.

^^^ when you're looking at a 5791 already, i doubt many people will empathsize. maybe a cheaper 2090 would be better.
either way, it's still a really good deal considering the hardware involved. i don't think xotic and pnb and these resellers in general are trying to skin customers alive. the pricing is extremely competitive, so i doubt there will be any 30% off dell-like coupons floating around. however one option to save some money is to upgrade the ram yourself or go for a smaller hard drive and upgrade later. even go with a worse cpu and wait for a penryn upgrade. -
is there much difference between a T7250 and a T7500?
@ $1700 I will buy it considering its such a great laptop.
it didnt hurt to look for something if anything off even if its free shipping -
the bang for the buck would be a 2.0 to 2.2GHz CPU... more than that would be a waste... especially when you want to save money.
-
alright, just tell me one thing if I do any gaming on the side, the 8700M gt pair with a lets say T7300 should give me decent fps in most games right?
-
With games, the FPS is more dependent upon the graphics card than the processor.
The T7300 is a very fast processor; I doubt my games would run noticeably faster with say, a T7500 on my NP2090. -
Yes, you should be fine with the 8700M GT.
-
the T7300 is a powerful CPU, it will due fine for all of the current and new games.
Its the GPU that gamers should be worried about for performance and longevity for future games.
