Hey guys, just want you guys to know that Sagers warranty doesn't cover shipping and handling to Canada for repairs. Even though i asked them how I would get my laptop fixed they said I would have to ship it to them and they would pay the shipping and handling. Now that my sager is overheating they said i have take care of shipping and handling. So just heads up for you canadians.

It's same for all over the world. But PCMW will pay for shipping to you.So you only have to pay for one way shipping.

You should check your warranty documentation, as if it says that they pay then the heat is still on them.

The terms of the Sager warranties, as regards shipping costs, have always stated, as long as I've been cognizant of them, as follows:
So, first question is, did you specifically tell the person with whom you spoke that you were located in Canada? Second, as the terms of the warranty make (mostly) clear, if you don't live in the lower-48, you get to pay for shipping both to and from Sager for products sent back to Sager. There is one little ambiguity in the actual language of the one-year warranty (which is quoted above in part), but not in the two- or three-year warranties; namely, in the first paragraph quoted above, the warranty states that it is a precondition of service under the warranty that the customer send the product back to Sager "with freight charges prepaid" which appears to contradict the subsequent statement (still within the one-year warranty, but the same language is also contained in both the two- and three-year warranties) that Sager will pay for three-day shipping both to and from Sager if the purchaser is located in the lower-48 states.

Unfortunately, that little ambiguity isn't worth much because, if the first statement were to be enforced over the second statement, the practical effect would be that, for purposes of the one-year warranty, everybody, including purchasers in the lower-48, would have to pay shipping both ways.

Basically, the bottom line is, if you're going to stand on technical niceties and the terms of the warranty, you're SOL because you're liable for the costs of shipping under the warranty; however, that doesn't mean that, as a matter of customer service or a gesture of goodwill, that Sager might not cover at least part of the shipping costs. To get that benefit, however, you'll have to negotiate with them and be reasonable.

No that's the downside of ordering from the US. People don't add the cost of warranty shipping & handling over ordering from Canada. I know if I would have bought from Sager I would have busted the savings over Eurocom's price a long time ago! (Have them sent a new ODD, a new HDD, and completely sent the whole system for a board replacement lol).

Usually, sellers don't pay for cross border shipping. Too much troubles and costly.
