Whenever I put in my driver disc and click on "Install Drivers" (which opens the menu for all the drivers available), Windows UAC automatically gets turned off (and I don't get the warning that you usually get for turning when UAC). This is before I even install any drivers.

(For the W8 disc only) After I finish installing the drivers and reboot, UAC stays turned off (until I manually turn it on again).

    Is normal?...

thats a new one on me.
we cant wait to turn uac off but ive never heard of the driver disc doing this.
i know a couple of the drivers didnt have the uac popup but most on the driver disc did.
might be worth checking with your suppliers support dept.

Likewise; never heard of a driver disc auto-disabling UAC. If you opt to see hidden files and folders, and you explore the disc's contents, do you happen to see a batch file anywhere that would allude to a command line written to do this?

After a fresh install of Windows, install the chipset driver standalone - apart from the disc - and then put the driver disc in. See if it happens after that.

My driver disc does this to me also, although when u close the window, it says something along the lines of, make sure you restart to reset UAC settings!

It resets mine to normal, although just means every time I put the CD in, I've got to reboot. I'll check for a bat file and post up details for comparison.

I'm glad someone has the same situation. It turns out only my Windows 8 driver disc doesn't reset, the W7 driver disc resets UAC after I exit like yours does.

I don't see any batch file that could allude to a command line for this when showing hidden files (though I don't really know what to look for either xD).

I emailed Sager asking if this is normal (I didn't think it was even possible for programs to disable UAC...).

Lol sorry. A batch file will have the file extension: .bat. It will look like a blank document but can be opened and edited in notepad by changing the .bat to .txt.

If there were one, it would probably have just a few simple lines of commands and switches that you would normally see in a command prompt. I wondered if there was one that Sager put on there to disable the UAC so that you wouldn't get the nag screen for every driver install.

Yes but it really should turn it back on again afterwoods, odd, but UAC is annoying :p But for people who don't know what they are doing it can save a lot of problems.
