I've had my 7970m for a few weeks now, it runs great, much cooler than my 6990m. I just however tried to run an hdmi cable to an external monitor and I am not getting a signal.

I've noticed, when I reboot all the way up until I get into Windows the external monitor works, and when I get into windows it loses the signal.

    Few things:
Cable has been tested, works fine on multiple machines/monitors
    I'm using Windows 7 64bit
    Currently using catalyst 12.6 drivers

To me, this seems like a driver issue...?

Anyone know if there is a way to get an external monitor working in windows with the 7970 on a P1x0HM?

I haven't had time to test other drivers, including the one which came with the new card.

I've searched the forums and web and I've seen at least one other person with the issue but I didn't come across a solution yet.

    Thanks in advance.

Is it even possible to use hdmi on a clevo card in older models? I thought only dell 7970m could directly use hdmi(they have an option to disable enduro in bios), since on the clevo/sager models, the hdmi port is attached to the onboard gfx card for enduro and not on the 7970m card. I could be wrong though..

MrDJ, yes unfortunately it didn't do anything.

webcrtor, Enduro doesn't work with the np8150, as far as I know, there is no onboard graphics? The hardware works because it displays fine on boot all the way up until I get into windows. There has to be a way, when I get off work I'll try some more drivers, so far I've only tried 12.6 and 12.7 beta.

Unfortunately this is a limtation I noticed when i got this great card. Tho the dvi output is working fine. Definitely it is a driver issue.

Yep. As soon as I uninstall my amd drivers and reboot, both monitors work. As soon as I install any catalyst version and reboot, the 2nd monitor is no longer detected. I wonder if they will ever fix it? It couldnt be that difficult?

no fix would come as long as no demand pressure mounts on their back (AMD). we are stuck with the DVI only till somebody figures it out.
