    Hi,

I just had my Sager np8258 get thermal paste reapplied+cleaned from Sager itself less than 3 weeks ago. Im also using a 17" laptop cooler and an Air conditioned room.

yet, still, during a not intensive game such as csgo, im reaching 86C. what am i supposed to do about this?

    thanks....

Are you talking about the CPU or GPU?

Then undervolt your CPU, take it one step at a time. Star with a -40mV value for the core / ring
    Then see if it's stable

What is your CPU model by the way?

    i7 4810mq, 16gb ram, 880m 8gb, 1tb 7200rpm+120gb ssd os (full specs in case u need it)

when it was brand new, it was at least a yr before the fan speed increased, now it is barely 2 weeks. just frustrating

    thanks

CS:go is heavier on the cpu in general though one of the heatpipes might be less efficient than it once was.

You would need to graph both sessions and compare the average to be sure of that difference. Our brains do tend to cherry pick data ;)

Before you were saying the cpu was the hotter one? Have you tried elevating the back feet an inch or so?

wasnt really paying attention to the GPU at the beginning.

it is on a cooling bad that is elevated about 1.3 inches. cooling pad has holes and 3 fans

    How does a heatpipe deteriorate?

Also, are you playing at a locked or unlocked FPS? And further to that, your temps are beyond hot... have you ever tried using maximum fans? Have you checked your paste job yourself? See if it pumped out? What is more likely is that your heatsinks were changed when Sager "repasted" your model and the new heatsinks are worse, or pumped out your paste.

    unlocked fps.

I know about maximum fans, however it sounds like a jet engine in my room.

No i have not. I will check on that today.

I will shoot them an email today and see if they did that.

thanks for the help, i will reply soon with results

Lock your FPS to your refresh rate, it should help your temps a lot.
