It will last you a couple years. You can eventually install a quad to get some extra life out of it. The new models current have a gtx 280m which isnt that far off from the gtx 260m. If you are worrying about the i7, then you should really worry much unless you are running extremely multithreaded apps. The QX9300 is still good enough and the i7 isnt that giving that much of a boost over it, if you switch from a qx9300 to and i7 you probably wont notice much of a difference.

The specs for the system i'm getting are in my sig. The laptop is only to play WoW. I understand what your saying i am abit worried about all this new stuff going out like you mentioned. How about the 280m is it worth upgrading in the future? And since WoW is a cpu game more the gpu i shouldnt have to worry with the one in my sig right?

You have no need to worry if its only WoW, and that processor can handle any game out atm. Upgrading to a 280m is possible, so that will give your m860 some extra life as well.

To be honest that's overkill for wow :p You could get something less expensive even. But the NP8662 is a great laptop, and your specs are fine. That laptop will play blizzard games for a while lol

hopefully also as montevina is at the end of its life, we will be looking at price cuts for our quads (although I said the same when I bought my santarosa p6860fx waiting for a price cut on the t9300 which never came...)

Price cuts won't happen for Montevina. Intel wants users to hop on the i7 train.
