Hey, I got me a sager np8690 off xoticpc, and have had no issues with it until a few minutes ago.
My specs are: core i7 720, ati hd 5870, 4 gb ram, and 500 gb hdd at 5400 rpm.
I used to play a lot of halo1, so thats not too taxing, and now im playing cod4 modern warfare. I see that it could put a lot of load on the gpu and cpu. Oh, and I never really shut down the computer, always just put it into hibernate, as i like my browser tabs to stay. I have been doing this for like a week now, and I have had no issues. When I resumed windows from hibernation(like I usually do) this morning, the fans made a very very loud noise, and it wasnt getting quite either, I shut it down immediately, and removed the battery. Let it stay out for like half an hour, when I turned it back on, it did make the loud noise again, not quite as loud, and now its quiet again. I havent tried gaming ever since this morning(im afraid to do so). I need help urgently, oh and I always have it plugged into a power source, cause, well it lasts for like 45 minutes on battery(its plugged in even when its hibernating). Is that a bad thing? Are the fans acting weird? Do they need cleaning? Im just so scared, I spent like 2700 usd on it, including the shipping, and taxes. Please help, Im from Australia btw...

ive had it for about 4 months now...

its not as loud as before, but is still lpuder than usual, and im not even gaming, just watching a video on VLC media player

run HWMonitor for a while and post a screenshot/max temps.

these are the temps when the system is not under stress(browsing, videos, music...)

    forget this...

I was uploading the temps when not under stress, and opened cod4 modern warfare while it was doing that, and the game ran well for like 20 seconds, and the screen suddenly went black(the computer just shut down completely) and when I turned it on again, it told me the computer was not turned off properly.

    when not under stress...
sorry for the bad quality, control + scroll up to zoom in, all max temps are around 50 to 52 degrees Celsius [IMG].

when under stress, playing cod4 mw, this time, it worked fine, didnt shut down(atleast for the 2 to 5 minutes I played), all settings are on max, 4 times AA, the game worked like a charm(like it always does).
I noticed that the idle temps went up, after the computer was turned on(they were 52 to 58 degrees Celsius this time,
here are the temps under stress...

around 59(mix) to 71(max of the max). Again, sorry for the bad quality(ctrl + scroll ... thanks heaps...)

Oh I dont use a notebook cooler, and I have IC diamond cooling...

Probably worth cleaning the fans. Remove the back panel and clean the fans and heatsink fins (dust gets matted between the fan and heatsink - on the inside of the laptop)

I advise against hibernate/sleep. It can cause so many power state problems...
