To those who own one of these machines, how would you rate the np9150?
What do you use the computer for and how does it function in those aspects?
I've never owned a sager, so I'm weary about buying a brand I have just recently heard of

~2 weeks ago, I was in the same boat as you. I had never heard of them before. Still haven't bought it yet since I'm horribly stingy when it comes to big purchases, but every day I research my options I love it more and more.

Stick around these forums for a while, the same will happen to you.

I've had my NP9150 for a little over a week now and i have to say it is quite the beast! I honestly have to say that my favorite part about this computer is the rubberized finish, it actually makes the computer feel like it's worth what you spent on it compared to other plastic clad models like MSI. The build quality of this laptop also feels very good, there isn't any unnecessary flex in either the monitor or chasis.

That being said the keyboard has been giving me a bit of trouble, the left shift key doesn't like to register unless you hit it near the center and I'm having what I believe to be drivers issues atm with screen blinks on start-up.

This is otherwise an amazing machine and WELL worth every penny you spend on it, there is nothing on the market that can compare in build quality and speed when pricing is a concern.

I'm still waiting for mine to arrive. I ordered it from XOTIC and it was delayed due to the 7970m situation. I believe Sager just got them back in stock yesterday and am still waiting for the status changing for my order. It'll be my first sager/clevo but from all the research I've done I feel I'm already in love with it

My 9150 was my first laptop. Here are some things I have noticed, they may be normal for laptops in general and not Sager specific.

Consider getting a matte screen if you want use it outside/in a lot of light.

The keyboard works ok, but isnt anything special. I am used to a mechanical keyboard(blackwidow ultimate)

Runs really hot. Dont expect to do any F@H or any other severely CPU intensive tasks. (3720qm)

    The drivers suck.

I like the physical texture, and the feel of the laptop, its solid. With ivy bridge and a 7970m you will be able to run whatever you want, not a problem.

I guess I just have really high expectations coming from some of the desktops I have built.

I've owned my 9150 for two weeks now. The matte screen is awesome, the keyboard's fine (also some of the fn mappings are @!$$ing stupid). My CPU doesn't get the same heating issues as the poster above me (rpobably because I have a lower end CPU). The Enduro support, as the poster above me as also stated, sucks, but it's bearable.

The build quality is quite strong, and the performance will blow you away (provided you get the 7970M). For $1500 it was well worth the buy, imo.

    Welcome to the forum.

The experience that each user has with their new 9150 would depend a little on which reseller they bought from, and what configuration they are using, so bear that in mind also. I couldn't comment on the resellers in the US (it appears there are a few and some very reputable) but others could put in a few words here. I bought mine in Australia from Affordable Laptops. The brief configuration is as written in my sig, though I neglected to mention the IC diamond thermal paste, which would make some difference to cooling.

My computer is probably used 60% of the time for internet surfing/ forums, 20% for gaming and 20% combined for editing and processing photo files and producing videos (eg. photo montages).

The computer is plenty powerful for these applications in the configuration that I chose. It plays games effortlessly, and with the 95% gamut matte screen the colours are fantastic both for games and photos. It runs very cool throughout all the applications that I put it through. Hours of gaming does not stress this machine whatsoever. A real workhorse!

Build quality is as I would expect (good) with generally hard plastics and a rubberised finish. Personally I don't like the rubberised finish. I've seen this on older IBM laptops and in the heat and with use over time, the surface will wear off to reveal the plastic surface underneath.

This is no great issue, but I'd rather have textured hard plastic instead of a rubberised finish. The other beef I have with the computer is the very low volume output from the headphone jack. It will not acceptably drive passive speakers, but since most would invest a little into an active speaker system with a subwoofer, I don't think it's a deal-breaker. Just something to remember.

The 9150 is worthy of consideration as far as 15 inch laptops go. I have few complaints about the computer. It's also the first time I've had a backlit keyboard and it looks pretty fancy in dim lighting.
