This is probably the most useless and dumbest thread you will read but I just wanted to make sure because when I called to order my Sager NP5720 from PowerNotebooks the guy asked me what notebook I wanted and I wasn't sure how to pronounce "SAGER" so I just said the 5720. LOL. BTW he said that the 5720's are very popular.

So, what is the correct way to pronounce Sager.

    Do you pronounce the " G" with a " G" sound like " GO" or a " J" sound like " JOB"?

    Do you pronounce the " A" like a short " A" sound like " ATE" or a long " A" sound like " APPLE"?

Thanks for your help guys. Also this will help me read it to myself when I read posts about Sager on the forums.

    SAGER!!!

LOL this is a pretty funny thread I have to admit.

I pronounce it Say - ger - the ger is said as if you are saying "great" - the "Grr" sound.

Yes, I'll bet the 5720 is a popular machine ;)

    Yes it is quite funny.

I've always said Say - jer like if i was saying "joe" or "jack"

but I heard my friend saying it today and he said it your way. I think you are correct.

Reminds me of the age-old "gibs" debate.
(I say it with the J sound because it comes from giblets and I grew up hearing that word with the J sound, but tomato tomato.)

This one, being a proper name, I'm sure there is a definitive answer. Until I learn otherwise, though, I'm also in the "Say-grrrrrrrrr" camp.

Ah well it's always good to ask questions if you're not sure about something. You don't want to pronounce the name wrong when you're telling people what kind of notebook you have. :p

It seems that there is really not a proper way to say "SAGER".

Here's what Ron at PowerNotebooks had to say:

So as you see you can say it however you want and you won't sound like a moron if you say it your own way. So there it is all cleared up for anyone who was interested.

Wow these guys at PowerNotebooks are awesome.

Ron apoligized for saying whoever thought of this has to much time on his hand. When he said he didn't know it was me who said it. I was shocked when he sed sorry. I didn't take it in a bad way anyways. I told him it was fine and that I didn't take it offensive.

I've always thought it was "Say-grr", like most people here. But then, I've never heard it spoken.
