    hi
I have been contemplating jumping on the 'boutique' bandwagon
but have heard a lot of 'discouraging' stories about sager systems parts availability.
From what I have found out so far, the service seems excellent initially, but 2-3 years down the line replacement parts are not available, and service is poor.
Are these things true, since I would be using my laptop for over 3 years as my primary computer I want to make sure I am not left with an expensive paperweight. (A lot of people have used this reference for sager's at cnet forums)
Specifically am looking at the NP5320, what do you guys think about the build quality etc
    thank you

Check my Sager review - link is in my signature.

I haven't heard any of those stories about the parts being scarce - if anything is going to break on the notebook, it will most likely be the upgradeable parts.

thnx Chaz. I was brousing through some forums where I read about parts not being available for older models, and Sager taking 3-4 weeks for repairs. So wanted to find out if that was the case earlier, or is still true for laptops older than 2-3 years.
I do not doubt their service over the first year, but how is it after that?

I would call a dealer and ask. I have heard the extended warranty from Phillips Magnavox is so-so. DiscountLaptops offers their own extended warranty, since they don't trust Phillips Magnavox.

PCTorque has also removed the Phillips warranty option and is offering in house warranty as Phillips sucks for any kind of warranty work. Used to use them for monitor warranty when I worked for a computer store and that was 10 years ago and they sucked then.
