Nope I'm not.

do you get the error when either:
you have the cpu less o/c'ed?
or you use different drivers? -
I think it's indeed the CPU OC..., at 3.0 I get that error, atm I'm going on 2.6 and haven't got an error, gonna try some more tomorrow.
-
was the downclocking officially fixed? as in its the release notes for 175.63 and up? -
havent seen any release notes but someone who works for nvidia said that they had found a fix and it was implemented in 175.63 and up
-
-
yup, they tend to lose you ~300 3dmarks from 167.43 but overall I find them far more stable so I'm happy with them
-
-
why do they lose you 300 points or why am i happy with them?
-
Both... I dont wanna lose 300 pts lol. -
well to be fair I find that I see no noticeable difference in games (3dmark is, as has been said many times - not a true measure of gaming performance) and it fixed a few issues I was having some of which I hadn't even thought were remotely gfx driver related...

I'm glad naticus has done so much research, because I have the same problem, but I don't have the time right now to try different combinations of system bioses, video bioses, and drivers.
I usually rely on system restore after being disappointed with a non-stock driver.
I'm not sure if I should be angry with Microsoft (running vista 64 home premium), nVidia or PC Microworks (I bought an M57RU-based system). It's hard to believe that the problem lies with an initial batch of 8800Ms. It works fine, some may even say flawlessly with 167.43, just not with any other driver. Something must have changed in the drivers since 167.43. I don't really feel like re-installing vista, since everything I use works right now. I'm just concerned with the long-term viability of having an 8800M that only works properly with 167.43. -
this will be devasting, if i try .08 and drivers still downclock... im pretty sure sager will have to give a refund or replacement because the card wont be working as advertised and its completly absurd that all these drivers are downclocking especially if they are still downclocking with the new bios. Its unfair that people with 5792's are so gimped and 5793's have no issues.
did u try even newer drivers like 175.63 or w/e? did those DC? -
I like this new driver (174.90) on my 9262.
Although benchmark average fps is little different from 174.82, minimum frame rate (something that I watch out for) is almost twice as high! -
Well i just tried the 175.63, they still downclock. Im using the .07 bios though, they may not downclock with the .08 bios, but im too lazy at this point to try anymore....im flashed out.
-
having downclock issues now 2 :s
damnit -
wtf.... how are we all still downclocking with the 5792 - this is absurd.
-
If you're using Vista, then try installing Vista Service Pack 1 if you haven't already. That solved the downclocking issue for me.

is anyone else experiencing the problem with this driver where its just extremely slowing down the computer?
-
i noticed that before i reformatted, but now that i went from nothing to the newest driver it seems to be working a lot better.. havent really stress tested everything yet though, so we shall see.
