I searched it up on google and the pages from this forum appeared to be outdated ... Are there any reputable sager resellers in (not shipping to, but inside) Canada?

    Thanks

EDIT: By sager I mean sager and/or clevo

There are some in Canada... who many get their barebones through:

Eurocom is very reputable and will negotiate pricing if you contact them and show them other vendors' quote with CAD pricing.

did you read the Clevo Guide for canadian vendors?

Eurocom resells Clevo, not Sager, but it's almost the same thing :p

I was looking around myself for a decent budget gaming laptop but the only one I liked was Sager NP2096 and there are no reputable Sager resellers in Canada afaik so I decided to get mine from xoticpc. Will be ordering within a week.

    Thanks for the quick reply

I did read the Clevo Guide, all the ones who I found to be in Canada were not always had one or more issue...

    - VooDooPC no longer sells them (or maybe they're just EXTREMELY hard to find on their website. I guess it's because they were bought by HP)
    - Neither does xtreme pc. I didn't seem to be in their list
    - Blackthorne only had an older model of the laptop I wanted (np5793)

The reason I don't want to go with xoticpc is because apparently there is a chance you may be charged customs/brokerage for no reason, and it's just overall more complicated when dealing with a different country.

I guess I will have to go with eurocom.

    Thanks

Any more info will be appreciated

???? Sager notebooks ARE Clevo notebooks. Clevo is a ODM meaning they make the notebook and sell it off to be named as "sager" brand, and sold by resellers, I.E. Eurocom, Prostar, etc. . .

Also, Eurocom is the most reputable reseller in Canada, I can't quite see how you can "overlook" Eurocom as not being reputable.

Some sager models are based on Compal laptops, which are not Clevo laptops.

For instance Sager NP2096 (based on Compal JHL90) isn't listed on Eurocom's website. They don't have any laptops with the 8600 or the 9600, which is what I was looking for.

You get charged brokerage fee if you choose the ground shipping option (something like $55) but if you choose express ($110), there are no brokerage charges, which I heard goes up to $80.

I emailed UPS regarding that brokage fee and the extra charges (on top of tax) was 77.54 on a $1230 order. So most people order with express since it's basically cheaper/same price but faster.

That's what I heard but if anything happens to the laptop you will have to send it to them and then it gets complicated. All in all, eurocom will probably have a cheaper outcome

I think depending on the warranty, xoticpc will pay for both ways.
Yeah, if you find a laptop you like on Eurocom, go for it. If you're looking at a $2000 laptop, they have a bunch of 17 inch gaming laptops as well as the new EUROCOM M860TU.

The reason why I didn't go for Eurocom was that they simply didn't have what I was looking for. Btw, I live in Ontario so the first place I looked was Eurocom.
