Now that i have done a lot of thinking i have decided to sell my BRAND NEW m15x, that got shipped today, and buy a Sagar NP9262 that comes with the 9800m gtx in august.

I wanted to buy from Xoticpc.com but i was concerned with the cash back system. Is it safe to not use a credit card with xoticpc?

btw, thanks for making me feel horrible about getting an m15x.

If you don't feel comfortable with a company then don't buy from them.

Why would you not just return the m15x to Alienware if you don't want it? You will lose ALOT of money if you sell it. Nobody will want to give you even half of what you paid. It's better to just eat the return shipping costs once you get it.

I know Power Notebooks are GREAT, very trustworthy, and you would have no problem doing the wire transfer cash option with them. They even have their own 24 hour tech support line just for their customers.....where you actual get somebody in the US who speaks perfect English and knows what their talking about. You will be very happy if you go with them.

Why would you sell a brand new alienware, you wont ever get close to what you paid for it, not to mention its more likely it wont sell at all since alienware doesn't allow warranty transfer. theres probably a 80% chance something will be wrong with it anyways, just find the problem and return it for a full refund.

Try to get a full refund on your Alienware.

XoticPC and Powernotebooks are extremely reputable, so I would not worry about doing business with either of them.

If it was just shipped today you should just refuse the shipment when it arrives and contact them to let them know you are canceling your order.

Yes it is safe to wire transfer funds to Xoticpc...just check them out at the Better Business Bureau and ResellerRatings.com

    Hi StirFried,

Regardless who you buy it from ... the cash discount that they are offering you is just the 3% fee that they don't have to pay to VISA or MasterCard company.

Why don't you use one of your Credit Cards that gives you points or mileage and just Charge your purchase and then you have the benefit of Credit Card purchase as evidently you already know.

    G! :)

Definitely return it rather than sell it as that way you will only lose your shipping costs.

Then take that money and a little extra, if needed to get what you really want.

You'll find Sager to be a great notebook. I have the 5793 and it is really nice.

Take a look at how the cash discount process works and you will see that it is safe from the customer viewpoint. You can even do a wire transfer.

If you rather go with the protection that a credit card purchase gives you then use a credit card and pay the card off over a few months with the money you were going to pay up front for the notebook.

It will cost more that way in the long run but you will have the credit card protection if things go wrong.

Exactly. That way you won't pay any restock or shipping fees. The worst case you should consider is simply returning it within 30 days, in which case the most you'd pay is the 15% restock fee. I know it's a lot of money - but it's a lot less than you'd be loosing if you try to sell it.

:D I use my credit cards whenever I can, with all the laptops I've gone through, even though I had to sell them at a slightly lower price, I also gained air miles which I always use. For the p-6860fx and 61fx laptops I bought, I received somewhere between 40-50$ back from bestbuy for being a card member + air miles on my credit card.

Doesn't alienware consider a shipped laptop a completed order? Thought I read somewhere that once it leaves their facility the warranty is activated and in their mind makes them consider it no longer a new laptop.

Wow, that is highway robbery ... a 15% restocking fee (for what) ... I have never heard of something like that. But, do they tell their customer of this or is it "Hidden" in the samll prints.

    G! :)

Its not hidden in the warranty info, but the warranty info does take a little searching to find
    http://www.alienware.com/purchase/warranty.aspx

Also for those who say your credit card is coverage, thats if you never recieve a laptop. American express and visa policy will cover you, if you never receive the laptop, but if you do receive it and decide to return it and the restock information is stated and you agree to it, they can still get your money back, but they can also choose to follow alienwares restock policy. Thats why I said your going to need to find something wrong with the laptop which with alienwares track record probably wont be that hard to find.

The m15x has enough problems im sure you can find one then get a refund. When dealing with alienware don't take no for an answer or else you will get pushed around and end up paying 15%. If you cant find a problem with your m15x then i don't see why you would want to get rid of it since the m15x is an awesome laptop when you get a untroubled one.

Also Xoticpc.com is a great company to work with and you should have no worrys. They had a 3,100 check of mine for about 4 weeks and now that i placed a new order they are sending me the difference back.

Thanks for all the help but i opened my m15x today and i fell in love all over again. I don't want to get rid of this thing unless i actually have to, then i will get a sager.

for now, this thing is staying, but I'm never buying from alienware again.

That is until you develop the crack next to the network port. Once that happens, say hello to the 5796!

You've never bought anything from Best Buy or Circuit City then? Quite a few major retailors have 15% restocking fees associated with opened merchandise.

I'm glad I figured out how to disable the Intellitype system. Or else all these, Apple, Sony, Samsung search hits become annoying.
