Bottom cover wasn't installed properly and the Nvidia GPU causes artifacts and system crashes on Windows and Linux.

It wasn't bad enough that they shipped me a ghosting screen that I had to replace.

I'm so sorry to hear about you and your friend's predicament as I went through the ghosting screen issue too and I'm waiting for my replacement screen.
It's kinda a mixed bag isn't it, the materials themselves are good but QC and workmanship are a hit/miss thing.
Would your friend be able to seek redress through his reseller? -

I would recommend contacting your seller right away and they will get to the bottom of this for you. Allot of times if there is a problem that comes up (at least we have) advanced replaced machines within 24-48 business hours. It you purchased directly from Sager contact their support right away.
