I'm a few clicks away from buying a Sager np7338, but my primary concern mostly relates to the aftercare for the laptop. The idea of buying a computer from the Windows store (namely the lenovo y50 4k) where I can get instant repair in the event of an accident (I am a college student after all) is highly appealing. I'd almost prefer to get the np7338 due to its size, specs, and upgradability, but I'm really concerned that if something goes wrong on my end, that I won't have a reasonable cost way to repair it.

    Any advice?

    hi
i would advise you dont buy direct from sager but buy from one of the clevo resellers who all have reps on here and will give better support and warranty.

    check each supplier out first.

    xoticpc

    prostar

    mythlogic

    power notebooks

    lpc digital

i have had 2 clevos now and wont buy any other make.
i always advise that if the customer can afford it to take out the extended warranty as hardware can be quite expensive if it ever needs replacing. if something goes wrong then they supply a RMA note which covers courier, parts and labour.

Another good thing about going Sager is even if you don't want to use warranty you can order most parts right off the net, really nothing much that's specialty parts, and have it delivered next day even. The 7338 especially is nice to work on and everything is right there accessible to replace.

My primary concerns stems not from the computer itself failing, but from accidents around the computer. Water damage, spills, drops, etc. Those worry me a lot more than some part shorting out. Seeing as those genuine warranty issues are already covered by Sager and Xotic, I wouldn't be worried about it.

I shot you an answer via PM but figured I'd note here as well. No accidental coverage on Sager products as it's not something they offer. Should be able to look into a supplemental Squaretrade warranty though.
