I am about to embark on a new endeavor and will be taking my laptop with me to Germany. I have a 3 year warranty on my laptop that I purchased with my system. IF I have an issue with the laptop, is it possible to get the warranty honored in the EU or will I have to ship it back to Sager in the US?

I just felt it might be useful to ask this in case something goes wrong. I do know that I can get a Squaretrade warranty that is worldwide but do not want to go to that expense if the manufacturer warranty would be honored.

Rarely does anything going wrong that actually requires sending in. Most is something you can handle yourself with swapping of parts. For actual repair work though it will more than likely require shipment back to the US. Contact your Reseller for details on your warranty.

Thanks Derek! I can handle the swaps. :) My reseller told me that if I had to send it in, I would have to send it to the US - which means $250+ in shipping costs. I guess I will have to use the worldwide coverage under Squaretrade.

Aye, since there isn't a one size fits all service center chain, it has to go back to either Sager or the specific reseller for service. HOPEFULLY, though, you don't run into any issues (and it sounds like that Squaretrade has you covered at least) while you're abroad.

All the best to you with that endeavor!

EXACTLY - HOPEFULLY is the right word.
