    Hello!

I have a question regarding audio out from my Sager 5760.

I have a speaker system that I want to use with my Sager.
The speaker input has a single jack (green color) that is the same size as a standard headphones jack.

When I plug the jack into the "headphones" port on the right side of my Sager, I get sound through the speakers like normal.
However, when I try the jack in the "audio out" port in the rear of my notebook (closest to the heat sink vent) nothing happens - sound still comes out of the sager notebook speakers.

The problem is, the microphone jack on the sager is not a convenient place for me to use with my mouse - the cord gets in the way.
I would prefer to send the autio out the back, using the audio out port.

    What am I missing here?
Is there a software toggle/setting somewhere that I need to adjust for audio out? Or maybe the audio out port I am using isn't compatible with my speakers?

Any help or advice is appreciated.
    Thanks!

The Audio out on the back is the SPDIF jack.... which is for 5.1 audio.

its in the manual i believe.

I assume that means my current speakers (which are not 5.1, only "surround" speakers) are simply incompatible?

If so, thanks for the clarification!

What kind of software do you use to control sound? On my Sager I have the Realtek software and I can remap the ports on my laptop. For example I can remap one of the ports on the back to the headphone jack.

I use one of those right angle headphone adapters so the cable doesn't stick out much from the audio out on the side. That way I run the audio cable along the side of the notebook to the back.
