Does the Samsung 830 SSD and Sager 8170 work seamless together or do I need a carriage or adapter? Please advise...

That has been a very popular combination, There should be no problems. You might need a mounting bracket but the SSD should come with it. Double check the packaging when you order it. Usually the Retail versions will come with it while bulk or OEM wont.

It should fit just fine no adapter needed but double check your laptop boxes to see if they sent any hardware in case you chose to mount a secondary drive at a later date, that might be needed.

Make sure the version you get is for a notebook, not desktop. The notebook version comes with a spacer so that the drive fits in the bay correctly.
