I just purchased a Samsung 850 Evo and when I went to install it in my Sager NP8150 I received:

PXE-E61: Media test Failure, Check Cable
    PXE-M0F - Exiting PXE ROM

This was with the windows 7 recovery dvd-rom in the disk drive and the ssd installed w/ the old sshd removed.

    Firmware version was showing as:
    american megatrends inc. 4.6.4, 4/6/2011

I wasn't sure if it was possibly due to an outdated firmware version but wasn't having luck finding the correct version to upgrade it to.

PXE is Preboot eXecution Environment, are you sure that you have the correct boot order set up?

yep, it sounds like a boot order thing. make sure that ur optical drive has first priority boot in your bios, that should do the trick :)

Could be. If the drive can't read the DVD, the computer will boot to the next available device - in this case, the network connection.
