    Hi everyone

Sometimes I play old games on my P170EM, but it won't stretch a 4:3 aspect ratio to 16:9. I have looked for the option in the ATI-driver, but it isn't there. I have also looked in the Intel-driver, and there is an option for "scaling". However, I can't change it for some reason. I'm a bit afraid to update the Intel-driver because last time I did that, I got a lot of BSOD's because the ATI driver went mad.

    Can anyone help?

    Thank you.

    Kind regards
    Peter

    Never mind:
    I found a solution: http://communities.intel.com/thread/26843
Strange way to do it. Intel could have done that better. Anyways, it is an easy solution.

I'd like to know what the problem was with the Intel driver. Which AMD driver were/are you using when it "went mad"? (Glad you found the solution for your scaling issue, at least!)

I think it was with the 12.11 beta-driver.
I don't think it is a problem with the Intel-driver. They have just designed it in a weird way. Let's say I want to play Roller Coaster Tycoon with a resolution on 1280 x 1024. In order to avoid black borders, I have to go to the Intel-driver, and then change the resolution to 1280 x 1024. When it is at this resolution I will be able to change the scaling option. When I have done this, I can change it back to 1920 x 1080, but it will still remember my particular scaling setting for the resolution, 1280 x 1024. That means that you can only change the scaling options when you set the intel driver to a 4:3 aspect ratio, - at 16:9 you can't do anything with the scaling. It's weird, but for some reason you have to do it in this way. It just confused me a lot because I used to have a Nvidia GPU where it was so easy to adjust the scaling options within the driver.
    :)

    I use the 13.2 driver.
It says that it is version 2013.0129.7.94.

Yeah, his base clock and ram the lazy........

Scaling options will be controlled by the intel chip IIRC.

You'd have to transplant some of the XTU stuff into the bios, not an easy operation :p

The ram is sloooooow, work harder :p
