I am currently on the 1.0.04 Bios or something like that, anyway its got a 4 in it. I would like to update the EC and the bios to version.1.0.14 and 11 respectivly, because I heard that battery life has been improved by an hour. Is this even possible and are there any risks in flashing a Bios from another company?

It's just the stock Clevo BIOS far as I'm aware of, so should not be an issue.

no idea mate. ive never changed the bios on any of my many lappys so wouldnt know the first thing about it.

all i know is if youve updated or flashed the bios with another companys bios update and not from your supplier then they can now turn round and say you bricked it you pay for it.

Just RMA it, have not heard of a story where any company refused to fix it after. Just say the mobo fails and refuses to boot.

I don't think that matters. People contact asking questions about BIOS many times and when failed and still had it serviced.

I'm not condoning bricking it with a BIOS, but again, I haven't read any post on any forum here on NBR of someone saying a company refused to service their notebook after a BIOS fail.

My advice to the OP, just do it careful and double check. If not, then get someone who has done it before to do it for you. So far, doesn't seem the BIOS from Schenker and PCSpecialist would be any different. PCSpecialist doesn't seem to have a custom BIOS to me, and neither Schenker.

The thing is PCSpecialist dont have an own BIOS and the Schenker one is the latest one. I have previously updated my BIOS on my old M15x, without a hitch.

Are you guys telling me that no one updates their BIOS?

no of course they do but if you do brick it and your supplier sees youve tried to put another companys bios on one of their systems then they could turn round and void your warranty.
im only telling you what could happen and whats been talked about on here in the past. i know nothing about the company so its always better to check with them first.

I understand what you are saying, but also noting, I have never seen or read of a company refusing with a BIOS brick. Even with desktop GPU that were bricked from failed vBIOS.
