Question concerning the screens, I'm looking at getting the P151 as soon as I can but I've been debating spending the extra money on the 95% gamut screen.....but I don't really know anything about it, what it's for, how it's done, is it a different screen, etc.

I hate to ask like this but this sites search function is........less than stellar. So could someone point me to what the process is exactly. Are there any comparisons? From the people who've gotten it, would you get it again? What are the benefits & real world implications of getting the 95%? I will MOST LIKELY be getting the matte screen, I've got matte on my current laptop and had it on my previous laptop and I loved it. (The colors are still nice without the glare)

I'll keep looking around of course but just thought I'd ask for some more direct answers.

I have the 95% matte, and I love it personally.

But see this thread so you can see some hard pictures

Awesome, am I doing something wrong btw. I search for things on this site and 90% of the responses are from 2009 or earlier, 9% are 2009-2010 and hardly no responses for 2011. I've never had a problem like this before. I searched for the word "gamut" and my newest thread was early 2010.

To add to the thread mythlogic posted, this thread covers the differences between the matte and glossy specifically:

The search feature on the forum is somewhat lacking, but if you wish to increase your skill in google-fu, type "site:forum.notebookreview.com" before your search term in google and it'll pull results only from this site :)

Appreciate all the links, and thanks for reminding me about site: on google, works much better.

I've read 10+topics on this now, including the 30 page monster and I'm STILL no closer to deciding.

It seems everyone is divided into a 33% split camp of "stick with original, get the matte, get the glossy" lol. The one thing I have noticed is people say the matte is more "mute" than the glossy and that the glossy "pops out" more. While I've never been outdoors with my notebooks before, I do tend to work in areas where gloss can be problematic occasionally. I just don't know :p

    Nope.

I'm not too tech savvy about screen power consumption details,

but unless you're going from 2D screen -> 3D screen,

you aren't going to notice a battery life difference.
