I have a brand new 9262. 8600 CPU, two 9800M GTX in SLI, 4GB RAM, XP. I've loaded three games: Rise of the Argonauts, Mass Effect and The Witcher {Enhanced}.

Rise of the Argonauts does not use SLI. The other two do. In both of them, I get an obnoxious flickering. This occurs in all parts of the game {opeing credits, menu, actual game, etc}.

I changed the video driver to 179.28 and still have the same problem. This only happens with SLI engaged {I can run both games with SLI disabled}.

Is the new 179.28 driver faulty as well as the stock driver? Or is it something else? Could it be one of the 9800M GTXs being faulty?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thank You

i had that happen to me. one of my cards we're bad. they replaced the bad card at no cost to me.

you can also try to uninstall your drivers and reinstall them..but that didn't work for me.

I installed new drivers. No change.

Bad video card? That is my fear. That would mean another week or 10 days on my 8 year old laptop that can run 10 year old games waiting for my dream machine to get back.

For a test, you can try flipping the SLI cable around. Then test the games in SLI and see if the flickering has gone away. I have seen this myself.

Exactly the same thing happened to me. The only solution was to send in the cards :(

(You can take away the SLI cable and run in SLI mode anyway via the MOB. This will probably make the flickering go away but you will take a performance hit. For me about 500 points in 3dmark06. )

You may also want to check the Dip Switches under the keyboard to make sure they are set correctly for the 9800GTX.
